A bird nest is used by adult birds to shelter, protect and raise their young. Nests can be small, like the hummingbird’s which is less than one inch in size, or they can be enormous, like the Dusky Scrubfowl’s nest, which can be over 30 feet in diameter! They are made from all different types of materials like grasses, hair, sticks, lichen, mud, saliva and spider webs.
